There’s a lot being written about AI in schools right now, and most of it is aimed at the classroom — at teachers, curriculum, and student use. That work matters, and I’m glad it’s being done.

This series serves a different audience. The one sitting in your seat.

The leadership altitude is its own thing. Strategic plans that need to stay alive between board meetings. Enrollment trends that need a sharper read than a dashboard can give. Board packets that need to become decision tools. Hard conversations that need the right framing before you walk into the room.

These are the things almost no one is showing you AI doing — not because the capability isn’t here, but because very few people talking about AI in schools have also sat in your chair. This series closes that gap. Each video is a real demonstration on real leadership work, built without code and without technical skill.

The Leadership Layer

If there’s one thing I’d recommend every head of school do with AI right now, it’s build a Leadership Layer.

A Leadership Layer is a private, persistent collection of your own files — your plan, your priorities, your thinking, your voice — that AI reads at the start of every session. The demonstration uses a fictional K–8 school with a full strategic plan. You see AI read from the folder and handle a real leadership task. Then you see it write back into the folder.

The shift is from AI as a chat window you re-introduce yourself to every Monday, to AI as a layer you build once and lead from.

From Board Report to Decision Tool

Every head has sat with a board report late at night wanting to think through it differently — to run the numbers another way, to see what a weaker enrollment year would do, to play out plan B and plan C before bringing anything to the team.

In this video, I take a standard board-level report and show how AI turns it into the thinking tool the head actually wants in those quiet moments — scenarios modeled, assumptions made visible, plan B and plan C held up beside plan A. The report goes from showing you what happened, to helping you think through what might come next.

Building Tools Just for You

Building Tools Just for You — Coming Soon

Vibe coding is the phrase of the moment, and for good reason. It’s the ability to describe a tool you wish existed in plain language, and have AI build a working version of it — no code, no developer, no vendor.

In the third video, I use vibe coding to build one small, specific tool for a real leadership problem, live. The kind of tool every head wishes existed but no vendor will ever build.

My work has focused on helping private school leaders navigate complex operational and leadership decisions, particularly during periods of change.

I have spent years working across private schools, with deep experience in enrollment, finance, operations, governance, and mission-critical systems.

I bring this orientation and experience to the questions of AI.

These videos are my way of showing you what’s possible, at the altitude you lead from. I’ll be making more of them through the spring.

If you’d like them as they come out, leave your email below — I’ll send each one directly.
